The treatment

How TPS works
Transcranial Pulse Stimulation sends short acoustic pulses through the skull to stimulate deep regions of the brain with millimetre accuracy, non-invasively and without medication.
Pulses reach the brain
Focused acoustic pulses pass painlessly through the skull to precisely targeted regions, guided by the patient’s own MRI data.
Cells respond
The pulses trigger mechanotransduction, prompting cells to release growth factors such as BDNF and nitric oxide.
Circulation improves
This boosts cerebral blood flow, encourages new blood vessels and supports nerve regeneration.

By car: The clinic is located just off the A4540 (Birmingham Middleway), near Five Ways. If you’re approaching from the city centre, follow signs for Five Ways and take the exit towards Broad Street. There is limited on-street parking nearby and several public car parks within walking distance, including the Broadway Plaza and Q-Park Brindleyplace.
By train: The nearest station is Five Ways, which is a 5-minute walk from the address. Birmingham New Street Station is also nearby (around 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by taxi), with frequent connections to cities across the UK, including London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.

Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr Nabavi (MD, MSc, FRCPsych) is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director at the Priory Hospital Barnt Green. He serves as a Senior Lecturer at Aston Medical School and is Medical Director at the Birmingham Neuromodulation Clinic, where he offers Deep TMS and TPS therapy.
His expertise spans affective and psychotic disorders, psychopharmacology, sleep disorders, and adult ADHD. Dr Nabavi was awarded the prestigious ‘Research Presentation Prize’ by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Nabavi is a dedicated clinician, educator, and researcher advancing patient care and medical innovation.
