The Treatment Pathway

Our pathway is designed to ensure that the TPS® sessions are as effective as possible for your individual symptoms.

Diagnosis

First you’ll need a diagnosis of mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease from a consultant or GP, which is required for the initial consultation.

Initial eligibility consultation

You can contact us to book a phone consultation to discuss details and assess for suitability for onward referral for cognitive screening.

Comprehensive consultation

You can then book a consultation with one of our NeuroPulse™ TPS® experts who will perform a comprehensive cognitive screening and cognitive brain function assessment.

Blood tests/MRI

Blood tests and (if suitable) an MRI scan will be arranged, which will map the areas of the brain that have been most affected by Alzheimer’s, allowing for a more tailored and personalised approach.

TPS® sessions

Following blood and MRI results, our doctor will then approve the patient for a course of six 30-minute NeuroPulse™ TPS® sessions, spread evenly over 2 weeks.

Measurement

One week after the sessions have finished, a second assessment will measure the change/improvements to the patient’s brain function and cognitive abilities.

NeuroBooster treatments
(recommended)

A NeuroBooster maintenance programme may then be recommended, followed by further assessments.

To qualify for TPS®, you will first need a formal medical diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia and ideally be in the first year since diagnosis.

There are forms of dementia which currently NeuroPulse™ TPS® has not been proven to help. Until further research is done, we will not be accepting patients with these conditions.

These include:

  • Vascular dementia
  • Mixed dementia
  • Lewy Body dementia
  • Frontotemporal dementia

Other exclusion criteria include those with:

  • Severe dementia, those who will be unable to follow the treatment protocol, or are immobile.
  • Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
  • Anticoagulant medication – Warfarin, NOACs (Apixaban, Dabigatran, Rivaroxaban, Edoxaban).
  • A pacemaker
  • A personality disorder

These assessments are performed in order to evaluate patient health, and are not necessarily eligibility requirements.
